There has been rumors of it being shorter, but that may be a mirage. It might also be that since it's the 'new' method, they need more screwing-around time. Or aren't confident in it, regulatory-wise, which is why it's going to China... But I didn't think they had developed the China studio... -

There's also pedestrian barricades, a fence (that keeps getting knocked down) and 'no stopping any time' signs as well as 'area closed'. You have to really go out of your way to go off there, yet people do. -Crissa -

People drive off that cliff all the time (and about half survive), but... ...you pretty much have to do it intentionally or have many things go wrong. It takes more than one 'pilot error' to go over the cliff, ut a complex sequence of violating signs, leaving the road, etc. -Crissa -
