Absolutely! RIP Jack! I miss the gruff ol' fart who understood how the world worked.

Tesla blamed drivers for failures of parts it long knew were defective

Why does the media like clicks? It's not simply because they like clicks. It's because the number of eyeballs is what determines how much revenue they can get for each ad. It's all about revenue because that's what pays the salaries of journalists and their editors. Where does this revenue come...

Tesla short seller Jim Chanos closes fund

Elon would rather have watched Chanos remain short through the next TSLA stock price explosion coming up as energy products experience their next big growth phase including eye watering margins. Oh well, 2023 was pretty disasterous for the one trick pony anyway.

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

We have two 2018 Model 3's that came with free premium cellular connectivity and they still have it. We have one that did not come with free premium cellular connectivity, and it still doesn't have it. I have a 2018 Performance Model 3 that came with free unlimited Supercharging and, as...

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

Huh? Has nothing to do with subscription-based pricing and everything to do with being able to pick and choose what you want and what you don't (and not having to pay for those you don't).

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

I know, the author cleverly got many people to believe Tesla might be implementing heated seats as a paid subscription, without ever providing any information that was the case. Sneaky story to try to generate Tesla rage.

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

Honestly, it's the turning down of cabin heat that provides more range, not the turning on of the heated seats. Yes, I understand how it tends to work, of course, it's just incorrect to say it is the heated seats that are increasing range. If you decide not to turn down the heat they will...

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

No where in the article does the writer mention that Tesla might be offering an ongoing subscription to heated front seats, even if that idea was cleverly planted in the readers minds. All it speaks to is the possibility of heated seats as a paid option, which of course Tesla has previously done...

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

They can make you more comfortable, they can't add range. You can turn down the heat with or without seat heaters, you just won't be as comfortable. You don't have to explain this to me, it's pretty basic and I've been using seat heaters to make me more comfortable for decades.

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

First, heated seats make you more comfortable, they don't add one mile of range. Second, Tesla certainly can lower prices if they know 50% of the buyers will pay for the feature after purchase. And it's long been known that it can cost more to add the feature to just a subset of the cars than...

Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features

It will never be a subscription feature, even if the article leads you to believe that, without actually saying so. The title of the article is: Tesla Prepares To Turn Heated Front Seats and Wipers Into Paid Features How did you get subscription from that? My observation of legacy auto is...

    Tesla Drive-In and Diner

Why? Because you have to be wealthy to charge your Tesla and get something to eat at a diner? School teachers are buying Tesla these days (cheapest one is under $32K after incentives).

    Post-Reveal Stock Price

Elon doesn't have a "salary" at SpaceX, it's all just stock-based compensation. You will find "news" articles talking about Elon's "salary" at SpaceX, but they are just plain wrong.

You had better talk to your accountant (and hope he/she is familar with the details of the Wash Rule and past IRS cases involving stock and the underlying options and the Wash Rule). My understanding, is that the IRS will treat options and the underlying stock as one and the same for purposes...

    Post-Reveal Stock Price

Not really. For most of Elon's tenure as CEO, he was paid the minimum wage required by California law. Whether his companies made or lost money in any given year had no direct bearing on Elon's annual income. He has never collected any salary at SpaceX, to my knowledge. Any minimum wage that...

    Post-Reveal Stock Price

Good points! Looking at complaints that Elon avoided paying taxes for years on a more fundamental level, I never understood all the hate directed his way. I mean look at the facts: 1) Elon didn't write the tax code. 2) Elon didn't lobby for the tax code to be the way it is. 3) Elon has always...

Tesla Dealership/Service coming to San Luis Obispo, California

As far as land zoning and building codes are concerned, it functions like a dealership. They Take delivery of new and used cars, they have a showroom, they have service bays, customers bring cars in for service and other customers drive new and used cars off the lot. The distinction you are...

Tesla Dealership/Service coming to San Luis Obispo, California

It's a building permit application, the application is designed to fall under the categories already recognized by the zoning code, ie. it is not a drugstore, not a car wash, it's a car dealership. If this were an application for a business license, it would be recognized under a different category.

Of course he took the government handouts. And he's still taking them. Big shareholders would have sued him if he left them on the table due to his personal beliefs. It would have been financial negligence on a massive scale. You don't know much about public companies, do you. I get a real...
