Why Do Teslas Keep Smashing Emergency Vehicles? (Warning: Graphic images in article)

Every post you’ve made assumes there is something that actually needs to be fixed. “Well it doesn’t matter how many… there should be none”. The obvious assumption there is that there are more than 1 which isn’t actually clear.

Master Plan 3 Coming March 1 on Investor Day

I don’t have gas powered anything save my chainsaw. Even my mower is electric battery powered. I think most people are going this way. Chainsaws are just absolutely massive energy hogs or they’d all be electric too.

? [Updated w/ livestream event] Tesla announces Global Engineering HQ in Palo Alto California

So much for Tesla leaving California. This is mostly taking over more space in Silicon Valley. They are taking a bunch of the HP space which was adjacent to their old location. Big focus here is AI, FSD, and robotics. It’s a good location for attracting developer talent. Not a ton of Bay Area...

Kind of disagree here. Dewalt and ego tools design there Tools specifically to compete with gas, powered tools. That’s the entire point of deWalt tool line of gardening tools. The blower the chainsaw. The hedge trimmers are all designed replace gas tools. Realistically what you describes how...

My reply was to a big fat assumption on your part. I quoted it right there so there was no doubt what assumption I was referring to.

Dude… it’s so obvious that Cruise is way ahead. They are at Level 17 already… they would be at Level 22 but apparently stopping in the middle of intersections is considered bad?

Why Do Teslas Keep Smashing Emergency Vehicles? (Warning: Graphic images in article)

You’ve assumed that this is indeed a recurring thing which needs to be fixed but we really don’t know what happened. There is not actually any evidence this is FSD… or Autopilot. So what exactly is “Happening”? A car driven by a human smashed into the back of another vehicle. Odds are this is...

Why Do Teslas Keep Smashing Emergency Vehicles? (Warning: Graphic images in article)

Media assumption is usually that it is active at the time of the incident. Reality is usually that it isn’t activated or often is crippled (foot on gas pedal).

Why Do Teslas Keep Smashing Emergency Vehicles? (Warning: Graphic images in article)

The AP stack is 4 years old and not designed to do a whole lot more than follow lanes. Sounds like it’s finally going to get an update when FSD v11 gets released and the full stack comes out.

Why Do Teslas Keep Smashing Emergency Vehicles? (Warning: Graphic images in article)

Same reason Tiger Woods crashed his SUV. As has been pointed out. It happens a lot, with a variety of vehicles. The media doesn’t report on 99% of accidents that happen and the 1% they do report on are the particularly heinous, involve celebrities, or involve Teslas. Why? Because those stories...

Master Plan 3 Coming March 1 on Investor Day

The electric saws are fantastic for keeping in your truck in the winter time if you are worried about downed trees. Sharpening a chainsaw is a weird skill so if you don’t know how, dropping them off at the shop is a good way to go.

Master Plan 3 Coming March 1 on Investor Day

A buddy of mine uses the Ego chainsaw and loves it. One other thing about electric saws to be aware of. The chains are thinner this makes the battery last longer, but the thinner chains wear out quicker so you need to sharpen them more often.

Master Plan 3 Coming March 1 on Investor Day

There are some good electric chain saws, but they definitely don’t have the endurance of gas powered saws unless you invest a lot into batteries. I have the 60v Dewalt saw and a Stihl 362 for trail work. The Dewalt comes out if I’m going to be fighting a handful of 12” logs and want something...

Why Do Teslas Keep Smashing Emergency Vehicles? (Warning: Graphic images in article)

Media puts Tesla accidents on the front page. Meanwhile incidents like this got page zero. Don’t know for sure, but there is a fair chance one or the other was on FSD or Autopilot.

Also, Musk doesn’t like 3 wheel vehicles. I think a Tesla “Tuk Tuk” looks closer to this.

Tesla to open ~20% of its U.S. Supercharger network to other EV by end of 2024

The Tesla charger is the most affordable type of destination charger and there are adaptors that cars which only support J1772 can use. Additionally, since most EVs that are road-tripping are Teslas, it's likely that many Tesla destination chargers are being utilized. This is further supported...
