    My personal take on this is Elon is very concerned about the economy in 2023, but Tesla is well positioned. Their low debt and low manufacturing costs, mean they are in a good place to weather a downturn.

    If they make these discounts permanent then I’d say it’s an indication demand is soft. Just having some year end incentives does not. It’s too hard to see based on a couple weeks action. See what happens in January.

    We don’t know what it will be. A mini Cybertruck might be an exceedingly efficient taxi. One of the big problems with Taxis IMO is the poor cargo capacity. No reason they couldn’t fix that with Robotaxi.

    I’d gotten the impression they were doing both. Regardless, the latest buzz is that initially Nuevo León would be parts factory for Fremont and Texas and later change to full EV production. (This is unfortunately sort of second hand but reasonably reliable)

    Last time there was a GP shipment, they had everything stacked out in the parking lot like a big yard sale. This time they are keeping everything indoors. Weather plus maybe increased sneakiness means fewer sneak peaks. Though they clearly don’t care too much or they’d cover the windows.

    If you use in flight wifi you can check your Tesla though. Check it’s charged and up to temp so after you run through freezing rain you know you have a warm seat waiting for you.
