Just curious why someone should take a Cybercab (once they are actually running) over a regular Taxi or Uber.

Beyond maybe saving a few dollars what else is there to make them better.

With a Uber or taxi at least you have someone to talk to if you want and they want. They may also know of local things going on if you are arriving via the airport or train. Also they can help you with luggage or such especially if you are a older person who may need a bit of help.

Agree perhaps with the luggage assistance.

For me, however, as far as attractions, I would have done the research prior to, called some people, etc.

With regard to conversation, "Sometime I feel like a nut, sometime I don't". Lately, I don't. I am a talker too but lately I like to gather my thoughts looking out the window.

I sometime take a RobotTaxi now, but as they are staggeringly popular here, I have ended up having to summon a Waymo. Still welcome. I'd like all such automated rides to succeed.

Cybercab or Waymo will not try to butt-fuck more fare out of you by a circuitous route for no reason.

I've had Uber drivers be very aggressive drivers and speed (80+ MPH). Also have had drivers refuse to use basic Autopilot on the highway after I asked them. Said they didn't trust it.

Just want a smooth, quiet and safe ride. I'm so use to how FSD driver now.

Cybercab will be just that where I can work on my laptop, sleep or just stare out the window listening to my favorite tunes.

Have you taken many ubers? They are mostly foreigners that barely speak English (if any at all), and they douse their vehciles with all kinds of noxious perfumes. Very low skilled drivers too.

I have taken them all over the country, the result is nearly universal.

Also, there will eventually be an option to have an Optimus to assist you, but that may be years away.

No I have not taken many ubers or lifts. I have lived in the country for many years now and so need a truck really to get around and do stuff.

Was just a question on what a Cybercab will have over a regular driven cab to make people what to choose it.

I would guess there will be a place for both in the coming years also. Some will like the solitude of the Cybercab as been mentioned and others will go the uber or traditional cab route for another reason.

Does not mean that both cannot co-exist.

Just my opinion that it will be several more years before the Cybercab really reaches mass beyond a few large cities. It still really is just a test here in Austin and a limited area also they can go. The San Fran is still with safety driver's from what I read and that is about it for now city wise from what I read. Seems like Telsa would want to announce if they were coming to a city near you soon for the promotion.

But then I also know Tesla is not really into advertising or such.

Good points all.......

I've taken a robotaxi twice so far to grab lunch in Austin from work. As a tesla owner, i prefer to be in the safest, most reliable, and NON-ICE vehicle whenever possible. These are the most important things i consider when needing to hire a rideshare.
