Well there are theories that electricity generation actually damages our ionosphere. I have no idea if they have any credibility, but ya know, one planet ending tragedy at a time.

Speaking of lasers, some can be used to light dark paper on fire, I believe.

A wood fire is carbon-neutral and doesn't produce immutable waste like a disposable lighter.

So this is a cool sort of mental idea.

I think the recharging plasma lighter or resistive lighter is probably better but you need tinder.

Here's just the ticket:

Cybercab Robotaxi Cigarette Lighter fireStarter

Sarts a fire with superheated air in less than a minute. No kindling required. Draws 1500 W but that should be child's play for the outlets in the CT bed. Or could be run from a Yeti3000 battery pack.

OK!!

Now we’re talking’. Almost need to hear some man hoots.

The Looft Lighter looks like it would certainly do the trick. The Yeti3000 would make a good (though expensive) wireless umbilical for the lighter.

Wireless umbilical sounds like an oxymoron but it gives a wired lighter legs to become unhitched from the CT. Unfortunately the Yeti3000 looks to be unavailable currently. I’m sure that if it doesn’t come back though some similar product will.
