Tesla rental rates on Turo seem to be dropping fast

Former photographer here, it loses its luster quickly.

Elon Musk reportedly bought ~$2M Bored Ape NFT

For one, he lied about how soon we'd all be dead, and he even admitted he thought he needed to exaggerate to be taken seriously. This isn't politics. Global climate change is simple fact. But lying about it made things worse, not better, to those who want to make it political.

Tesla rental rates on Turo seem to be dropping fast

So those $150-200 controllers on Amazon are all just pure profit? "Standard" always costs more, and many people won't need it. Most, probably. Tow packages are often used for things that need no controller. Like a bike rack.

Tesla rental rates on Turo seem to be dropping fast

There was the guy who didn't care if his wife drove without brakes. "She's insured." Seriously. He was driving an overloaded trailer with no brakes. 7-9k I'm sure. Just one of those absolute morons, and thought my trailer would be fine on her mini SUV with a 5k rating (and it's 3500). So...

Tesla rental rates on Turo seem to be dropping fast

Why would it? Many trailers don't need one. Mine does, and I very carefully specify that in BIG LETTERS. I've seen a few trucks with OEM controllers, but more that don't include it. Boats...nearly all surge brakes, no controller. Uhaul...same. Travel trailers...nearly all need...

Tesla rental rates on Turo seem to be dropping fast

Also, I did RV Share for a while with my travel trailer. I hated it. Too many people with zero clue on how to use a trailer. No major issues, just annoyance EVERY damn time. "What do you mean I need a brake controller?? I have a tow package!" Sigh. I wonder if a Tesla would also be...

Tesla rental rates on Turo seem to be dropping fast

You can't be careful who you rent to, there's no process to vet them outside of the Turo system. And their insurance covers this. The idiots were doing it for TikTok fame (the truly destructive Chinese virus), and were busted because they posted their crimes online. Police offered $1k for...

It's also inconsistent with the data shown in Optiwatt, which derives its stats from actual cars in real world usage.

Elon Musk reportedly bought ~$2M Bored Ape NFT

I don't know that it's really politics. The guy was a bloviating hype machine and hypocrite, and a liar to boot. Calling out one person for being stupid is not politics.

Tesla rental rates on Turo seem to be dropping fast

A friend just rented a 2021 Y LR with EAP for $74/day all in (total with taxes and all fees). This is in comparison to 6-10 months ago when I was considering renting ours out or buying another to mostly rent, and was seeing $100+ per day PLUS the fees and taxes. I wonder why? There are more...

TeslaConTexas April 5-9 (Sandy Munro will be a featured speaker)

Musk originally said "factory tours for the public" but nothing further, that I can find. I'd go to the con if I could also do a factory tour, but not otherwise. In fact I'd throw a bit of cash at a ticket option.

Tesla driver opens fire on golf course and vehicles after parking at Catoosa OK Supercharger

I'm a gun nut, vegan (mostly), love avocado toast, want my my government to stay out of vaginas and bedrooms, and also out of business and my income. I've tried cocaine once and hated it. My drugs of choice are great coffee and good whisk(e)y. I want my gay married neighbors to be able to...

We have some definite challenges ahead.

I've worked with three regions on traffic video, and I can also tell you that they are all very different in quality/attitude of people they employ. Sometimes my Tesla identifies a road worker in a vest as a cone/barrel. Which is not inaccurate for some of those people.

My wife never pays attention on road trips. She always says oh we’re in California as soon as the car gets noisy.

Have you heard about the old Toyota clock problem? They never expected them to last this long, and many stopped counting dates yesterday. Insanity. Now, I know someone has to pay the road fees, but until EVs are a big percentage they should get a bit of incentive, not a drawback. AZ just...

We have some definite challenges ahead.

I did a project many years ago to create a system to calculate how much to pay farmers not to farm, and sell our water to CA. Also CA has the unique ability to have drought, forest fire, and flood at the same time.

How to interpret this "cold call" email from Tesla?

I still get scam postal and email stuff regarding my jeep that I traded in for the gladiator. They claim or hint at being related to either jeep themselves or to my dealer but definitely not. The Tesla model three is sold out for nearly a year. So my neighbor bought a very low mile used one for...

We have some definite challenges ahead.

How are you taxed per mile in CA? I've only heard of flat registration there. New thing? So they track your miles and have a 14k minimum? We work from home and drive very little, but also AZ has the lowest electric rates and EV taxes. Power is 5.5 cents off peak, and 7 years of Tesla...

As far as I know, all EVs already have this timer.
