  4. Australia sees strong future for coal beyond 2030 despite U.N. call

Wow So the ultra conservative Australian government mandates socialism for private corporations that mine coal? In capitalism I thought the customers (demand) were the crucial deciders not government. If customers decide not to use coal how is Australian government going to force them to buy...
  5. GM to halt production at nearly all North America assembly plants due to new chip problem

A reason is that Ford is losing money on each Lightning Gen1s sold. Ford is allocating a certain loss amount to get EV credits (not buy them from Tesla) but too many Lightning Gen1s sold would cut too much into profit from F-150 ICE.
  6. Sandy's rant. lol. I love this man.

There should be nothing surprising about the death rate being higher for collision caused fire vs mechanical defect fires. Collisions are normally 1. quick surprise events (no warning). 2. High risk of instant large leak of flammable fluid with sparks from collision to ignite or even short...
  7. Sandy's rant. lol. I love this man.

The only cars I had that caught fire were way less than 20 years old ( 4 years , 12 years), well maintained & never on dirt roads. All those recalls I listed for fire issues by auto OEMs were for new cars and still fairly new cars (1-5 years).
  8. Sandy's rant. lol. I love this man.

At least if they had an electric car the smoker should not be blowing up their ICE car & gas station while refueling.
  9. Sandy's rant. lol. I love this man.

Actual it is almost even. Not a big difference. Almost half of vehicle fires are non-crash related. U.S. National Fire Protection Agency, Vehicle Fires (ALL Causes) Every year on average, 243,780 car/truck/semi fires, 381 deaths, 1,365 injuries, $1.3 billion in vehicle & property damage...
  10. Robert Reich goes after Elon Musk, again.

And it is getting worse than just bad credit. They now want to see your social media activity & see your web search history.
  11. Sandy's rant. lol. I love this man.

More ICE vehicle spontaneity. Many are NOT because of bad car factory workmanship or poor owner maintenance or extreme age of vehicle issues. Many are caused by ICE OEMs cutting corners in design or just the so many failure points possible in ICE with high temps, pressures, lots flammable...
  12. Sandy's rant. lol. I love this man.

-------------------------------------------------------- Kia Sorento and Optima, and Hyundai Santa Fe and Sonata manufactured from 2011-2014, and Kia Soul manufactured from 2010-2015 Kia and parent company Hyundai has recently been urged to recall nearly 3 million cars and SUVs with...
  13. Sandy's rant. lol. I love this man.

Actual a significant number of ICE vehicle fires are NOT related to accidents. So far I have owned a 15 cars in my life and two have caught fire. Neither fire was related an accident. I was in the car on each occasion. In one I was driving down the street when I noticed smoke starting to come...
  14. Tesla's AI Day Event Did A Great Job Convincing Me They're Wasting Everybody's Time

Yup Tesla live-streamed AI day because Elon believes in getting the best talent no matter where they currently live and regardless of their formal degrees they have. Elon has said this several times. A Fremont in-person event limits Tesla to only those few that are privileged to live in...
  15. Tesla’s (TSLA) D1 Chip Is a Brilliant Checkmate to the Company’s NHTSA Investigation Disaster

D1 chip is the hardware. DOJO is the complete system (D1 hardware, operating system, training software applications). D1 Chip & DOJO will be used internally by Tesla. Probably never in cars. Tesla might sell access to DOJO just like Amazon sells AWS cloud computing. Other companies might want...
  16. Tesla’s (TSLA) D1 Chip Is a Brilliant Checkmate to the Company’s NHTSA Investigation Disaster

D1 Chip is not Tesla's first chip. There is current production FSD HW3 and completed design FSD HW 4. Also world leading electronics in power controller that drive motors of Tesla Model 3, Model Y, 2022 Model S. Heat pump Octovalve. Only FSD software (still in beta) that is targeted to work on...
  17. The lost history of the electric car – and what it tells us about the future of transport

Highway capable cars are not $70K. Can get them for $30-$35k before incentives and usually $25K - $30K after. super golf cart type that would be legal on city streets would be much less than $17K before incentives. The biggest problem is not government regulation. The biggest reason they are...
  18. In Russia’s Wild East, An Electric Car Proves Cheaper Than a Lada

Northeast Russian is like most of Africa in that there is little infrastructure due to vast distances and low population. In both areas telephone landlines and grid electricity never were prevalent, reliable or complete. This is why once cell phones became commodities at low prices people in...
  19. Biden Wants Extra Incentive For Union-Built Electric Cars—Which Would Exclude Teslas

Most of the workers who build $200K or up single family homes do not make enough to actually buy a $200K single family home themselves.
  20. Biden Wants Extra Incentive For Union-Built Electric Cars—Which Would Exclude Teslas

The extra $2.5K for U.S. union built is not that important. The main thing is to get Tesla back into the program at $7K-$10K. Right now Chinese, Japanese, EU built EVs get upto $7,500 U.S. federal credit from U.S. taxpayers while U.S. built Tesla gets $00000000000000. Also any U.S. built GM EVs.
