Tesla Received Approval to Install Short-Range Interactive Motion-Sensing Radar in Its Vehicles

So many uses for this. The system could alert Emergency Responders about the condition of occupants after crash. It could also alert Tesla when the person you are getting friendly with in the back seat is not your spouse. Just another potential source of revenue for Tesla.

    Fiery deaths?

I swear you must be getting a cut from my therapist. Every image you put in my head is like 10 more sessions. Then again, I am hoping it is my English betraying me again and you are just talking about the type of nut Scrat cares about.

In Did's defense. English is my second language and I often read faster than I should and miss stuff.

    Fiery deaths?

If the aliens didn't abduct the driver to extract Tesla tech from him, the other possible explanations other than instantaneous case of combustion is that after the accident his door was jammed, he didn't want to climb over his buddies bloody corps so he climbed to the the back to get out and...

This site has affected my thought processes – not necessarily for the better

Both are bad enough to make the case for owning an EV. I have changed my own oil most of my life and I can not wait for my first EV. I am not sure what is the deal with battery coolant replacement on Tesla but it looks like it is not as often and I may not even have the option to do it myself...

This site has affected my thought processes – not necessarily for the better

They make the diesel nozzles larger to make sure that does not happen however I knew someone that spent twenty minutes trying to fill up the tank even though she could not get the nozzle in making a mess in the process. She called the brother to see what is wrong with the gas station and the...

    Polestar crash

My mom told me never take pleasure from someone else's misfortune but my dad said, if they have already had the misfortune, it would be such a waste not to take pleasure from it. The world would be a lot less miserable place as a whole if we all do. That is when I became an activist trying to...

Volkswagen poised to change its name to 'Voltswagen' as it invests in electric vehicles

That ID Buzz Microbus is like a puppy. The same way you see puppies in every real state add, you see this on every VW news. My wife‘s eyes used to get wide open when they did this first year but she has given up on it.

    TFL reviews the Jeep Magneto

Some of the most fun I have had has been in Wrangler but at this point in my life I think of it like a yacht. Something that I should convince my friend to buy. I don’t have room or time for one trick ponies in my life. Give me my CT so I can stop looking at other cars.

I think that case can be resolved without radar with enough light and resolution. The same way we can tell the difference. With a camera on right and one on the left you can see if any pixel inside of the tunnel change position with respect to outside pixels as you get closer. Daylight or...

Tesla owner involved in >$100K legal battle as parking garage blames ‘Autopilot’ for Model 3 crash

$25K repair cost? I am afraid, as more and more low cost insurance companies pay for these, instead of other companies rates coming down, theirs will go up. I had a similar experience. It is a wild wild west and anyone that does not have a lawyer strapped around his/her waist is screwed...

Even human eye uses multiple type of sensors (rods and cones). We can overcome the dynamic range problem to be better than human eye with using multiple cameras with different exposure. As you pointed out how to intelligently process that data within our computational limits is the tricky part.

This is an older article: https://heartbeat.fritz.ai/computer-vision-at-tesla-cd5e88074376 It has a sample image in section 2 That shows two of the front cameras pointing at the same direction. Apparently one is zoom. It makes sense, it helps with predicting what is coming without having to...
