    I honestly hate that this is happening. It gives the anti-EV crowd valid ammunition for not wanting to ditch ICE vehicles completely. I want to laugh at GM's response, well ok, I'm laughing at their response.

    It would seem to be pre-production runs to dial in the calibrations on the equipment so that when the factory is ready for full production, they've already knocked out the setup process on the Gigapress(es). Since they can recycle the ones that don't meet specs, this is a smart use of time.
