For those of you wondering, 4Runner will still be made in Japan. At least for now.
That's great news and heard it being confirmed in some videos too ?

You say "for now" thinking it might eventually be moved over to Mexico plants where Tacomas are made? How soon you thinking?

Both Mexico plants are expected to be at capacity after hybrid production fully ramps up. I think a whole new plant would need to be built, which will take about 3 years if they start soon. I can see it happening since 4R, LC, GX and LX are all made on the same line in Japan so I can see demand for all four being higher than capacity. I'm sure Toyota will wait to see how sales go for the first year.

Given the new 25% tariffs on cars built outside USA, there may be a push to build 4Rs and Tacomas in-country.

OTW, Toyota’s already very high prices, further irrationally inflated by dealer premium shenanigans, will elevate Toyota truck products beyond the reach of most of us.

At some point, prices will either drop demand and total sales revenue or lead to drastic quality material and manufacturing deterioration to achieve lower price points. Neither outcome is desirable.

I was planning on a Land Cruiser until dealers jacked up the prices on them. I’m glad I waited. I like the 4Runner better.
