Tesla owner with Mustang Mach-E reports threats on social media from Tesla fans

I was at the vet the other day and a guy pulled up in a clearly brand new Mach-e. It was the first one I’ve seen. I wanted to chat with him about it but we had to go. I am no fan of Ford but I certainly hope it will be a great car for this guy. Anything less than a great car does the industry a...

Tesla Giga Press involved in fire at Fremont Factory, no injuries reported

My apologies. I mistakenly assumed that the post was simply a repost of the Electrek ā€˜article’, but this one is substantive and I was completely wrong.

Tesla Giga Press involved in fire at Fremont Factory, no injuries reported

You do realize that there was almost no information in that post. There was probably no leak of molten aluminum, which would be very hard to catch on fire especially at the melting temperature. The hydraulic fluid is, I am sure, designed to be used in this context so it is probably not capable...

Autonomous Electric Trucks Could Disrupt Rail and Transform Logistics

I agree and disagree. We live in a time where people spew out untruths as truth. If no one stands against them then whatever they said might be taken as truth simply because there was no challenge. I was not paying attention to the topic you are referring to but think there are times when we...

Tesla Looks a Lot More Like BlackBerry Than It Does Apple

anyone that believes what market analysts say kind of deserves what they get. It was market analysts that said Nokia's market strategy was perfect. The list goes on and on. If you want to say that Blackberry or any other product that rose and fell (and fell off the edge of the planet) is a...

Fellow Nerds: Is Elon more Paul or Leto II?

Paul became like a deity and Leto got murdered. I don't care for either comparison.

Oil Major Total Buys Texas Solar Projects

SunPower isn’t a project; they make solar panels (my panels are SunPower panels), and companies buy companies. But companies do contribute to bubbles when they buy up stock or draw attention to their company purchases. I don’t blame Total for trying to stay alive in the future when there is no...

BART Director Janice Li on Tesla head honcho: 'F-k Elon Musk'

If you give me a context where those 3 words, spoken publicly, by a high-visibility official, are ok, then we can maybe start over.

BART Director Janice Li on Tesla head honcho: 'F-k Elon Musk'

I like to think that the Bay Area, or any area, has people speak sensibly (not me of course, but I am not on the BART board of directors). I expect it, so if Janice Li has something to say about Elon Musk, or anyone, publicly, I expect it to make sense. She can say whatever she wants at home...

BART Director Janice Li on Tesla head honcho: 'F-k Elon Musk'

I do not appreciate anyone using such language in a public forum. I cannot imagine a context where that would be acceptable. The good news is that BART board directors can be removed from their positions. Hopefully there is an explainable context where that comment is acceptable, but I cannot...

Will CyberTruck get the Yoke Steering

My only issue with the yoke type steering wheel is when I am backing up, especially with a boat or trailer, where I need to turn my head and cannot have my hand on the bottom of the wheel. But if we have good monitors in the car maybe that won't be necessary.

    Hovercraft

I have a jet boat and I would never take it where an airboat reins. But I wasn’t talking about where a particular craft is the best option; I was talking about noise. Any kind of boat except an airboat will make almost no noise compared to a hovercraft, and an airboat can do well in some of the...

    Hovercraft

Not practical from a noise standpoint. In most cases an airboat would beat a hovercraft, assuming there is some water. I have always loved airboats and hovercraft so my notion of practical is probably somewhat outside the mainstream.

    Hovercraft

Ever been in an airboat? Fans are very loud. A hovercraft has even more fans. Cool but not very practical.

    Tesla now selling Tequila!

There was no toilet paper on the shelves at Safeway last week, and signs saying 1 per customer - just like last spring. Hoarding is DEFINITELY happening again. Maybe things are different in Illinois or just haven’t caught up yet.

    5:1 Tesla stock split

I have no issue with people spending money, if they have it, as long as they live life. It sounds like you have lived life without spending money and that is fine. I was saying that I have known people that forewent living life with the idea that they would live their lives later.

    5:1 Tesla stock split

How true. Some of my most memorable moments were very unwise activities (from a certain point of view).

    5:1 Tesla stock split

I decided young to live my life as though every day was my last. I did crazy, exhilarating things I would not do now, and had great adventures of every kind. I watched as people I knew spent their lives acquiring wealth, and I have never regretted my choices.

Tesla’s Manufacturing Revolution — Machines That Set Tesla Apart

Casting is not stamping but pouring molten material into a mold. The CT exoskeleton will not use a casting machine but a combination of cutting, bending, scoring, and welding. It would be helpful if so-called reporters knew a modicum of anything before they report. I don’t know many other...
