Ford/GM/Superchargers... the ELEPHANT in the room......

Unless I'm misunderstanding something Tesla is trying to put in the prefabricated sales as much as possible because they are way cheaper and going in way faster. This was discussed by the head of that area on investor day.

Ford/GM/Superchargers... the ELEPHANT in the room......

I thought the real elephant in the room is this example (Rivian example below doesn't matter as other cars have their charger port in the "wrong" best fit area too).

Ford EV will gain access to Tesla Superchargers and come with standard NACS ports starting 2025!

Seems like the wrong perspective to me as Ford just recently got out of the compliance EV building. Look at Tesla early on: Ford knows how to build vehicles:

Ford EV will gain access to Tesla Superchargers and come with standard NACS ports starting 2025!

Not the way that I see it. Seems like v3+ just like the Ford announcement says. This is some slightly old data (no 2023 - not sure if 2022 is partial). 18,025 below. Tesla first opened V3 stations in 2019. Does that make sense? ------------------ ---------------- --------- Also: 1094 x 12.00...

Ford EV will gain access to Tesla Superchargers and come with standard NACS ports starting 2025!

Ford media says Tesla v3 ... meaning not v2. "A Tesla-developed adapter will provide Ford F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit vehicles fitted with the Combined Charging System (CCS) port access to Tesla’s V3 Superchargers. "

Ford EV will gain access to Tesla Superchargers and come with standard NACS ports starting 2025!

I would be that said adapter will allow current Lightnings to charge on the Tesla Supercharger network.

First Supercharger with Magic Dock CCS Adapter charges up a Rivian

Imagine CCS charging taking up every other stall meaning a Tesla then can't use the purple stall.

Tesla to open ~20% of its U.S. Supercharger network to other EV by end of 2024

No worries. I was just reporting numbers. Keep in mind they are being incentivized ($) and tracked as part of it. IMO, this changes the dynamics of their motivation. The past couple of years have been very impressive to me at least. The 'changes' page here at supercharge.info (crowdsourced...

Tesla to open ~20% of its U.S. Supercharger network to other EV by end of 2024

I'm confused by your comment as the text (link below) explicitly says "7,500 chargers" and "at least 3,500" superchargers. I think chargers=plugs and superchargers=locations...

Tesla to open ~20% of its U.S. Supercharger network to other EV by end of 2024

[update start] 7500 chargers by 2024. The numbers seem like we are talking about plugs/ports/pedestals vs Superchargers/sites/locations. Totals in light green. Increments in white. In 2022 they added 399 *site* locations. Based on these numbers it has to be 3500 ports (aka stalls). FYI: numbers...
